Man sentenced after argument over electronic cigarette

In a shocking incident at a Costa cafe in Belper, Derbyshire (a county in the East Midlands region of England), a man was sentenced to prison for violently assaulting an employee following a dispute regarding his electronic cigarette.

Darren Laken, 31, grabbed a pack of knives from a Poundland store before stabbing the terrified employee XNUMX times, causing serious injuries to his head and arms. The argument erupted after Laken was informed he could not charge his electronic device at the establishment, per store policy. Furious, he left the scene swearing, then committed further acts of violence at a nearby hotel before returning to the Costa cafe to carry out his brutal attack.

The victim, deeply scarred both physically and psychologically, now lives with the after-effects of this attack. In her statement, she expressed her daily anguish, haunted by the visible scars and trauma of the attack. Laken was found guilty of several charges, including grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, theft and criminal damage. He was sentenced to six years in prison, plus four years of supervised release.

This information worthy of a tabloid comes precisely from one of them: The Mirror in UK.

At the editorial office we are impatiently awaiting an article from them on the benefits of vaping for smokers... which in our opinion would have more impact in their "electronic cigarette" section when next time their journalists will not know what to use fill it.

Happy vaping to all, and don’t forget: “Vape and stay calm”!
