USA: The CDC's anti-smoking campaign is controversial!

In the United States, CDC (Centers for Disease Control) presented its new anti-smoking campaign which bears the name " Tips From Former Smokers (Advice from former smokers). The goal of the CDC and its director Tom Frieden being to use advertising, video and billboards in an attempt to reduce rates of smoking and related illnesses. In 2014, this same campaign cost more than two hundred million dollars to taxpayers. For some people, this campaign is a real failure or the e-cigarette is often seen as another kind of “smoking”.

typeHow does the CDC evaluate the progress of the fight against smoking with this campaign? According to the article by NewsMax.com, who are " The results are based on analyzes of internet research aimed at obtaining information on how to quit smoking during the campaign. "Last year, a controversy made noise, the photo of a woman named Kristi declared:"I started using the e-cigarette, but it didn't get me out of smoking. Until my lungs can't take it anymore". In this photo, the e-cigarette was mentioned for a reason, the fact that one could interpret that Kristi preferred to continue smoking.

With this new campaign, the CDC once again missed a golden opportunity to educate smokers to reduce or quit smoking by using e-cigarettes. The CDC has released its own figures indicating that there are now more than nine million vapers in the United States. In England last year, public health said that e-cigarettes were at least 95% safer than tobacco. So how could the CDC or Dr. Frieden miss this? This information alone proves that the e-cigarette is an effective way to quit smoking. Instead, the Dr. Frieden has chosen to remain in another vision of public health by choosing to reject all this research on e-cigarettes. Obviously this position is extremely misleading for the general public because the CDC aims to serve public health.

And if the CDC behaves this way there are obviously reasons, lies are spread on the e-cigarette and these actions are exposed. Recent reports prove that the pharmaceutical industry is donating to the CDC and doing so part of Frieden's position and the government. According To an Intell reportihub from December, we learn " that a large number of CDC experts have ties to the pharmaceutical industry.". This obviously explains the refusal of Frieden and the CDC to speak of the e-cigarette in terms other than " We don't know enough " or " This could please children". It also explains the status of the use of approved methods. Corruption and scandals are exposed. Former smokers who have turned to e-cigarettes do not hesitate to question public figures like Frieden as well as the motivations of people like Professor Glantz in California.
Sf the number one priority is clearly public health, it is now known that e-cigarettes allow people to stay away from tobacco. The duty of CDC "officials" is to know everything there is to know and to relay it to the general public. There are no excuses, no exceptions, the public deserves the truth and Dr. Frieden has failed miserably in his role.
