Portugal's 2015 budget wants to integrate e-liquids into its new taxation schemes. A tax levy of 60 euro cents should thus be applied to each milliliter sold, which could then double the average price of a bottle.
Example: 5,90€/10ml = 11,90€/10ml with tax…
The gains should amount to 105,9 million euros, the state explains this by explaining that it is to preserve “the public health” of the country and to apply a principle of “tax equity“.
A petition came out in Portugal to fight against this tax. Currently there are 1470 signatures and it would be enough to reach 4000 signatures to prevent this from happening.
To be able to help them, it would be enough for French vapers of Portuguese origin (possession of a Portuguese identity card is compulsory) to click on the link below in order to sign and prevent the tax from passing.
