The noose is tightening for the vape in Europe with a new ban in the Netherlands. In fact, following the adoption of a government amendment published in the official journal, the Government Gazette, the Netherlands will ban all flavors for the vape except tobacco flavor, from 1er October 2023. The ban applies to all vaping products, disposable, pods, or refillable by liquid.

Little by little the only effective device to fight against smoking is regulated, regulated or even banned in many countries. Even though a new European regulation seems to show the tip of its nose, some countries like the Netherlands are taking the lead in drastically limiting the possibilities of quitting smoking for vaping.
Following the adoption of a government amendment published in the official journal, the Government Gazette, the Netherlands will ban all flavors for e-cigarettes except tobacco flavor from 1er October 2023. The ban applies to all vaping products, disposable, pods, or refillable by liquid.
The ban announced in 2020 will also include provisions relating to product packaging. The latter will no longer be able to affix descriptions related to aromas or tobacco flavor. Brand names and trade names are included in this device.
Worse still, the public health institute RIVM has compiled a list of 16 ingredients that manufacturers can use to make tobacco flavors. According to the RIVM, about a quarter of today's tobacco flavors can be made with this list of ingredients.
To Esther Croes, a researcher at the Trimbos Institute, this ban is essential to protect the youngest from being introduced to vaping products. She adds that the idea that vaping helps smokers quit is largely a myth. research shows that only a few benefit and most smokers double-drink, inducing additional health risks ».
