BRITISH HEALTH MANAGER CARES ABOUT VAPOTAGE

For the convinced vaper, the United Kingdom is a bit like El Dorado, the place where vaping has long been considered " 95% less harmful compared to tobacco". Yet doubt seems to settle in following recent events affecting the United States.

To Lady Sally Davies, the country's chief medical officer, there is fear that vaping is "a time bomb" that could cause long-term damage, as concerns grow about the safety of e-cigarettes .

Professor Dame Sally Davies, who will step down later this month, made the comment just before US President Donald Trump announced plans to ban flavored vaping products in a bid to deter children to use e-cigarette.

In an interview with Civil Service World, Dame Sally raised concerns about the safety of e-cigarettes. " Is it a time bomb? Will this have long-term consequences?  »

For years, Public Health England (PHE) has been working to claim that it is at least 95% less harmful than smoking. Last year, he urged hospitals to start selling e-cigarettes and let patients use them in rooms. Official statistics suggest that when it comes to experimentation among adolescents, vaping has replaced smoking.

Dame Sally said e-cigarettes should not be allowed in public places, warning that vaping could set a bad example for children. Earlier this year, she said, " I wouldn't let vapers use it in public places. I hate when I walk past someone who is vaping, in my head I say to myself: « And then we talk about pollution ... »

Previously, she said: " I continue to worry, as we don't know what the effects of long-term use are, or the effects on people who are at risk of developing their nicotine addiction while using them. A question also arises about the social impact of the standardization of vaping «
