UNITED KINGDOM: Stop smoking, free e-cigarettes for the homeless!

It becomes a habit that we never tire of! Once again, this is where the good news is coming from in the UK. Indeed, as part of a trial designed to stop smoking, homeless people will receive free starter e-cigarette kits.

THE E-CIGARETTE TO HELP A HOMELESS POPULATION FROM THE TOBACCO PLAGUE!

For years now in the UK there has been no hesitation in helping smokers with a working substitute: the e-cigarette. With that in mind, homeless people will receive free vape starter kits as part of a trial designed to help them quit smoking.

The study will be carried out in 32 homeless centers in five regions of the UK: Scotland, Wales, London, South East and East England. Vape starter kits, which typically cost around £ 25, will be distributed free of charge to people in half of the participating centers.

People from other centers will be assigned to a care group. The full £ 1,7million research trial will include 480 participants, with 240 in each group and 15 from each center.

Professor Caitlin notley, from Norwich Medical School at the University of East Anglia, said: " We know that around 70% of homeless people smoke tobacco, which is well above the UK average of 14,1%.  "Adding" We also know that electronic cigarettes are the most popular method of quitting smoking, with some studies suggesting that they are more useful aids than nicotine gum or patches and much less harmful than smoking. "

» Electronic cigarettes mimic the experience of smoking because they are hand-held and generate a smoke-like vapor when used. «
