UNITED STATES: City of Milwaukee bans e-cigarettes in public places.

In the United States, decisions against vaping keep coming. A few days ago it was the city of Milwaukee in the state of Wisconsin which banned e-cigarettes in public places. A decision taken unanimously by the city council.

A BAN ON E-CIGARETTE IN CLOSED PUBLIC PLACES!

Since lawmakers passed the Wisconsin state smoking ban in 2010, cigarettes have all but disappeared in closed public spaces in Milwaukee. In order not to stop on this momentum, the city council unanimously adopted a resolution banning the use of electronic cigarettes on city property and in public spaces.

« If less people become addicted to these products, I think the long term health of our country and our city will improve." , said Mr. Murphy who sponsored this new legislation.

This decision represents the third and final part of legislation aimed at improving public health by limiting tobacco use. The first measure, introduced last month by the municipal court, increased the fine for selling tobacco to minors. The second measure, passed by the Common Council last May, built on the first by banning the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors.

Electronic cigarettes, otherwise known as electronic smoking devices, heat solutions containing nicotine to produce a "vapor" known as an aerosol. Their use has exploded among young people since their introduction to the domestic market in 2007.

E-CIGARETTE LESS HARMFUL THAN TOBACCO? " A MYTH " !

The e-cigarette less harmful than smoking? According to Mr Murphy, who sponsored the new legislation, this is a myth.

«The best scientific evidence, whether it comes from the School of Public Health, the Surgeon General or many other case studies, shows that the e-cigarette can be very dangerous for others especially through the particles that come out of the product»He declares adding« It is not water vapor."
