INDEPENDENCE, RISKS TO HEALTH, FRENCH KNOW-HOW AND GROWTH!
14.000 jobs in France, direct and indirect, 3 million vapers, 2.500 specialist shops and 200 e-commerce sites: according to the Fivape, the e-cigarette market is experiencing strong growth and the progression could well increase over the next few years. France would thus be the second market in the world, behind the United States.
According to Charly Pairaud, instigator of the project Vape in progress ": " The first French companies were born five to ten years ago. The vaping market exploded in 2012-2013, in the country in crisis, the sector is a new economic opportunity. In 2015, the number of players, too high, was regulated. The market also slowed because of a negative campaign. But in 2016, it started to rise again. 25% growth last year, as much expected this year "
But Charly Pairaud prefers to be clear and wants to distance himself from tobacco manufacturers, especially since he assures that the electronic cigarette is a real alternative to smoking:
« People think of us as tobacco companies on the pretext that we make it into business, but noWe do not offer tobacco products! Of the three million regular vapers, one million have quit smoking altogether, one million have halved their cigarette consumption, and one million start, stop, start again, not too sure.«
We often talk about health risks or doubts about the composition of e-liquids, however Charly Pairaud assures us, there is nothing harmful in the 
spray products:
» Propylene glycol has the same properties as water, assures Charly Pairaud, it is what moistens the sandwich bread, it is what makes the smoke of shows, we put it in everything, even in the paint. It is a neutral product processed by our digestive system, we can consume much more than what we consume with the e-cigarette. As for nicotine, it's like caffeine, we also know how to receive the molecule. For the patches or the chewing gum, we did not tap on the fact that there is nicotine. Nicotine enhancers, which lie to the brain about feeling full, are banned for e-cigarettes. »
There is still work to be done regarding the investment of the French government on such an important subject as the electronic cigarette.
« In England, there are advertising campaigns to encourage smokers to switch to electronic cigarettes. In France, we say slowly that it is 'much less dangerous'. France is the second country of smokers behind Albania and Greece. There is a Faustian pact between the state and tobacco, it's cynical: the more people smoke, the fewer pensions there are to pay. They don't want to push tobacco addiction too quickly and see e-cigarettes speed up this process.
