INDIA: Towards a ban on e-cigarettes in Rajasthan

In India, the situation surrounding the e-cigarette seems more and more precarious. While the Vape Expo India was not authorized, we now learn that e-cigarettes could be banned in the province of Rajasthan.

TOWARDS A PROHIBITION OF THE ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE!

This is still bad news coming to us from India. Indeed, the government of Rajasthan is preparing to ban electronic cigarettes, it is Kali Charan Saraf, the Minister of Health of Rajasthan who made the announcement a few days ago.

Speaking to an NGO during a seminar on “Rajasthan without tobacco", The minister also specified that he was considering issuing licenses for the sale of tobacco. According to him " If you want to stop smoking, you have to do it instantly and with a lot of will"

During the seminar, Kali Charan Saraf said that the state government is committed to freeing Rajasthan from tobacco adding “ If the world bans tobacco and its manufacture, then a state can ban it too. However, if a single state bans tobacco, it will stimulate smuggling. This is why the government is educating people about the harmful effects of tobacco so that people can quit"

The chairman of the Rajasthan Human Rights Commission, the judge Prakash Chandra Tatia, says tobacco should be banned completely. No details have been provided concerning the ban on electronic cigarettes.
