SWITZERLAND: LIDL stores will soon be selling cannabis products.

In Switzerland, the low-cost Lidl supermarkets have announced the upcoming marketing of cannabis-based "rolling tobacco". Since 2011, the consumption of this drug has already been authorized for medical use.

On the supermarket shelves in Lidl, Switzerland, consumers will soon be able to find, alongside cigars and cigarettes, rolling tobacco "Based on cannabis, we learn from a press release quoted by the British newspaper The Guardian

Since 2011, Switzerland allows the use of cannabis containing no more than 1% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive molecule that makes up the plant, for medical use to individuals over the age of 18.

Cannabis put on sale in these supermarkets will be light, intended to provide soothing and anti-inflammatory effects but limiting the psychotropic effects as much as possible. In addition, it is grown locally in northeastern Switzerland. « The manufacturer relies on sustainable agriculture and without any addition of chemical, synthetic or genetically modified substances« explains the supermarket chain.

For a pack of 1,5g, it will take 17,99 Swiss francs, about 15 euros, double the traditional rolling tobacco.
