YOUTH VAPING IS A CONCERN?
In Canada, the popularity of vaping among young people continues to worry various youth awareness organizations. Flory Doucas, co-director of the Quebec Coalition for Tobacco Control states: " This is extremely worrying because we have seen that the numbers among young people have stabilized somewhat, but given all the awareness campaigns that we are currently seeing, not seeing a drop is not encouraging"
In a recent interview she adds: « It's a product with nicotine, like cigarettes, which is sold in all convenience stores, but which has the advantage of being very easy to use, of having a fun "look" and the flavors contribute a lot to trivialize. When it tastes of mint or strawberry, it is difficult to perceive that it is a product that is highly addictive ».
According to Flory Doucas, the tobacco industry working hand in hand with the vaping industry form a consortium " well organized and powerful” able to “pushing back regulation government after government”.
