The ransom of glory for Juul, a real phenomenon in the United States where it has conquered nearly 70% of the market in record time, the e-cigarette manufacturer is facing the first complaints from its customers… who accuse it of having become addicted to its products.
Since April, three complaints have been filed. Two of them accuse the manufacturer of deceptive marketing practices, the latter promising a neutral effect of its cigarettes when their nicotine is actually higher than traditional cigarettes, reports the US site Wired. A third complaint, filed by the mother of a teenager, implicates Juul for having caused the academic difficulties of his son.
Juul, who produces e-cigarettes that look like USB sticks, quickly conquered a wide audience, especially younger ones. After raising 1,2 billion, especially in order to develop in Europe, the start-up is now valued at 15 billion. She made 245 millions of dollars in revenue in 2017.
